Welcome to BirthSmarts LLC!
My name is Lindsey, and I’m the face behind the name. I started this company in hopes of bringing affordable, easy-to-understand childbirth education into the hands of expectant parents.
When I graduated nursing school, I had no intention of working in labor and delivery. After a somewhat traumatizing birth of my oldest child, my heart tugged me into that direction. I decided that no one should have to feel as powerless, vulnerable, and voiceless as I felt on my daughter’s birthday. That difficult day changed the course of my life, and boy, am I grateful!
I started a parenting blog back in 2019, and realized how many people loved when I posted about labor and delivery. I also started teaching childbirth education classes through the hospital I worked at and saw firsthand just how much this information empowered new parents.
All of these scenarios opened my eyes and heart to how much of a need there is for straightforward, factual information about pregnancy, labor and birth that is easy to understand! After sharing some of my knowledge on TikTok and reading through thousands of stories and comments, this realization grew and BirthSmarts LLC was born!
BirthSmarts is the product of years of learning from laboring people at the bedside. I grew to learn that birth is not just something that the pregnant person experiences – an entire family is born! And having a good foundation of knowledge will only enhance your childbirth.
Since the traumatic birth of my oldest, I have gone on to have two more darling daughters. Their births absolutely healed my heart and reinforced the idea that a birth informed is a birth empowered. I am excited to share this gift with others!
